Sadly, we were unable to obtain tickets nor Press Credentials for the 2007 Tournament. We are beginning preparations for 2008 and hope to return to form.

We'd like to pay special thanks to the Augusta Chronicle, Fosters Daily Democrat, the Delaware News Journal, NBC News26 Augusta, and the San Jose Mercury News for supporting our site and helping us make LFA2006 a huge succes.

So here we are:
A couple of duffers at best, seeking sponsorship from the general public to support our "Once in a lifetime" adventure to the hallowed grounds of "The National" - we are the common man's men, the Cinderella men, the Danny Noonans, the crazy greenskeepers, the weekend golfers that only dream of such an opportunity - we are bringing the emotions of thousands of "I wish I could go to the Masters" golfers to the Masters - and we want to do it right.

We have sent out Press Releases via email, we have paid for PR firms to handle releases for us, we have solicited local businesses in New Hampshire, Delaware and Georgia, we have sat around drinking martinis trying to figure out how to get the most exposure for this dramatic undertaking - martinis people!

The bottom line is this:
Our sponsorships are so affordable and such a great investment, it's almost scary. You get linked for only $25. You can have a banner ad placed for only a $100 contribution. You can have featured space for just a $500 donation and the best part is - these links and ads stay up until Dec. 31st, 2006! A full year of advertising for these prices is unattainable! MAKE IT HAPPEN! You'll feel good about it!

Prologue to the Masters:
The Email:
“Call me immediately” That’s all it said. Did someone die? What was the emergency? I was stressed. I made the call….My sister (Cousin Sarah) answered. “What’s the matter?” I gasped. “Do you want Masters tickets this year?” Time stood still. The clouds parted. Birds were singing. Throughout the world, birdie putts were falling.

Masters tickets. The holy grail of golf. Mine…..wow!

(For those of you unfamiliar with Masters tickets, the waiting list was started in 1972, and closed in 1978. 2000 briefly found the waiting listed opened. Bottom line. Unless your grandfather fought for the Confederacy or caddied for Bobby Jones, you just cannot get tickets to the Masters.)

Somehow in the wilds of rural coastal Maine, my sister had a professional associate who had two four-day tickets available. The tickets were mine…. There was no decision process required to decide who would accompany to the tournament, to walk amongst the azaleas, and eat the pimento sandwiches. An invitation was extended, and accepted by my Cousin. Cousin JM.
